Make Me Happy…?

What a cruel joke --

‘Cause, whoever said,

”One was responsible

For another’s joy,

dreams, wishes and hopes,”

mistakenly mis-spoke.

I am responsible

for how I feel.

You are responsible

for how you feel.

This is truth,

for real.

Success,

Together as a couple

depends on simple,

Selfish Intent

Yes, I felt populations flinch.

But truths, newly published

are rarely popularly cast

though eventually accepted

and lived in mass

I am responsible

for how I feel.

You are responsible

for how you feel.

A spiritual maturity

gaining appeal.

Imagine the pressure,

stress, virtual duress

placed on others

to make you, me, we

Happy…

So, unfair and impossible

a task, one that

perpetuates relationships

ranking equal to,

working Monday mornings;

the ‘joy’ of a ‘beloved’ 9-5;

and living only

for the weekend,

which comes too soon

and departs even faster

Relationship—

destined disaster…

A better, more co-creative,

initiation might be

“Hey, let’s get together,

and see…”

I’ll continue to be

Responsible for how I feel.

You’ll stay responsible

for how you feel.

Just to keep it real --

We’ll rendezvous aligned,

in-tune first with our

individual selves

then join, intertwined

in the bliss of each other.

How does it get

Any better than this?

In this conscious state

we spiritually relate

with a continuously

clean slate;

Live in the moment

above explanation

and debate

I am responsible for

how I feel,

You responsible for

how you feel,

Then together,

Caring, Sharing, and

in our individual ways,

live combined joys,

contrasts, adjustments

and successes

that make for

a lasting union

of freedom.
